We were asked to complete the renovation and relocation of a newly built condominium for a client who lives alone with his cat. As the client was a busy person, he had a contact person and the project was carried out in close cooperation between the contact person, a construction company with whom the client had a long-standing relationship, and our company. The project took more than two years to complete, but it was very enjoyable.
The client’s desire was to create a suite of rooms that fully reflected his usability and preferences. The plans provided by the builder could not meet his requirements, so it became a complete renovation project, including changes to the floor plan.
The bathroom and laundry room were built by Baincouture, a custom-made unit bath that can be fully tiled even in condominiums, while the kitchen and storage space were designed by CUCINA and furniture by Arflex. In the bedroom, CUCINA installed a jewelry box above the waist-high storage furniture, allowing the user to see over ties, cufflinks and other items.
There are not many photos to publish because almost all of the room is private, but the cozy space is filled with the owner’s special touches. Even the cat, Mr. J, seems to like the rooms, as the walls, ceiling, and cat stairs are finished with deodorizing chaff wall, and the floor is finished with natural wood veneer flooring or tiles.
